Hi I’m Annalee! creator and founder :)

I believe early exposure to a wide variety of experiences encourage children to follow their curiosity and discover their interests early on. This will help them discover what they enjoy and gravitate towards activities that bring them joy and feel aptitude for.

I wanted to provide these diverse experiences for my kids, but in reality I found it very difficult and overwhelming with multiple young children.

Now as a working momprenuer, I need an afterschool program for my kids that I feel good sending them to after a long school day. Not only are the options very sparse in Vineyard, I wasn’t excited about the limited options available to our area. Hence I decided to create a program I personally want and am excited to share it with others! It will take place in the extra large basement of my home, which we are crafting perfectly to host these programs.

No need to drive all over town, or piece together a disjointed schedule. We bring the fun right to the neighborhood. Kids Discovery House will be a safe place you can send your kids during the day or after school to continue their healthy brain development without the use of screens. Have the peace of mind knowing they are making discoveries, having unique experiences, stimulating their minds, and having a lot of fun all without screentime.

Your children will be picked up from their elementary school by one of our safe and certified shuttle drivers that will drive them to the kids discovery house.

Upon arrival your children will wash hands, and be served a delightful healthy afterschool snack, learn something new about food where food comes from, then the schedule will go as follows:

20 min - Free play in the backyard on our fun playground structure to release that pent up energy and connect with friends.(indoor play when weather is too extreme)

35 min - Well prepared fun group games - fun unique games to teach cooperation, teamwork, and have some classic childhood fun!

30 min - Professional tutoring from a certified k-6 tutor will be hands on helping your child with homework or reinforcing what they learn in school. If they don’t have any homework, we have fun creative writing exercises, read alouds, or visually stimulating books from our curated collection. Our class sizes are small so the tutor can get to familiar with your child’s academic progress and tutor them where needed. Fun reward system for completing their homework.)

75 min - Specialty Lab. Each day we have a different themed lab that follows our philosophy to incorporate music, movement, and making (hands on projects). Read below to learn about our specialty labs.

Mondays

Makers lab will introduce your child to many creative disciplines with hands on project’s appropriate for their skill level. We focus on teaching the basic principles of each discipline while doing a fun hands on project to help children see the possibilities of each area.

Example: Healthy baking, photography, videography,

sewing, painting, arts mediums, design principles, typography, set design, costume design, product design,

and more!

Tuesdays

Kids get introduced to many different types of instruments while learning music theory principles like rhythms, chord formation, key signatures, note names, dynamics, melody, ear training, and more. Intro to various musical genre's and feeling the joy through making music.

Example: Healthy baking, photography, videography,

sewing, painting, arts mediums, design principles, typography, set design, costume design, product design,

and more!

Wednesdays

Kids will gain confidence and learn to express themselves through movement and physicality with the traditional studio disciplines that get the body moving and establish coordination, balance, focus, memory, group awareness, social cooperation, agility, among many other benefits.

Example: Tumbling, dance genres exploration, martial arts, karate, self defense, parkour, acting, yoga, kick boxing,

Thursdays

Kids will dive into fun STEM projects that put core principles of science, technology, engineering, and math in action.

Example: Projects in the following areas: robotics, woodworking, programming, chemistry experiments, architecture, physics, astronomy, biology, and more.

Fridays

We work hard to find unique opportunities for kids to get a behind the scenes look at how things work up and personal through unique opportunities we arrange. We’ll also have fun recreational fields trip days!

Since some Vineyard schools don’t offer full day kindergarten, we offer parents an option to get a full day for your kindergartener without tiring them out. This program will be a fun way to start each day with a mix of music, movement, and making things. A perfect morning before they start their afternoon classroom learning at the elementary school. We’ll feed them before we drop them off so they have full tummies and prepared minds. See details as this program varies from the others.

If you simply need care for your child, that is what daycares and nannies do; they provide a supervised environment to care for your child. There are many options that offer lower rates that here to do just that.

We are NOT a simply daycare, we ARE an childhood enrichment center offering the same quality classes that you would otherwise pay for as extra curriculars at commercial centers. We bring in the same professional grade teachers you would expect to get from a commercial studio or center. We also happen to care for your child in your absence. Only in that way do we overlap with a daycare offering, but unlike daycare or other programs, we offer experiences that you would otherwise have to pay for as extra curricular classes. One original insight behind our center was; Parents drive all over town and peice together odd schedules to fit in extra curricular classes to see if their child enjoys the activity. Instead, why don’t we bring those classes to one place at one time to make it easier for both parents and the kids involved. In this way we can offer so much more and variety as well.

Our child enrichment center is focused on giving your child a wide breadth of exposures while also helping them make progress in core fundamentals that will help them succeed in a variety of disciplines and specialties.

This way they can discover what they like and want to explore deeper through more specialized offerings, yet still be prepared with fundamentals to help them succeed early on.

On-site Private Music Lessons

Add on service: 1x a week we’ll pull your child from homework time where they can have a private or small group music lesson on a specific instrument. We’ll record the lesson as though you were there watching (you are still welcome to come!) Specialities to choose will be piano, guitar, violin, or drums.

Schoolwork and Artwork Digitization Service

No more paper piles! We’ll scan your child’s completed schoolwork and artwork each week and send you the files via a cloud service for you to download.

Family Meal Drop

Dinner and done. Hot n ready healthy family meals ready for pickup at the same time you pickup your child. Kid friendly and adult friendly options available.

Haircut Fundraiser Fest

We’ll bring in a hair stylist to help with those routine haircuts and save yet another errand.
