A Child Enrichment Home

Initially when we were modeling out the idea to run a child enrichment center with our programs, we were looking at commercial spaces. Not only are commercial spaces very high rent in Vineyard, then don’t typically have the amenities I wanted without an expensive built out first.

Even after a build out, most commercial spaces don’t have an outdoor green space for the kids to play. I wanted a large space for a studio floor, an art room to get our hands dirty and sticky with fun projects among other things. Building a new commercial building was off the table, and commercial spaces were disappointing. After touring several spaces, I thought, “why don’t I just do it out if a home since it already has all the features I need and is similar in square footage needed for a space?” This led to the Kid’s Discovery House to be born. We’ve found a beautiful property to transform into an incredible experience for the kids and parents involved. The basement is very large with high ceilings and big spaces, perfect for our kids to move freely, enjoy natural light, and play outside when the weather is good!

Although our program is based out of a home, we run our business as you would expect a high quality commercial center to operate with all the quality and safety you would expect from a commercial program. Unfortunately because of city residential regulations we are limited on # of kids we can accept, however small groups sizes are where we stand out, as opposed to cramming as many kids in a commercial space to cover a huge overhead.

We will post updates all along the process as we create this inviting space and get exited for our amazing program to begin! We will also hold an open house to tour the space ones it’s finished!
